Air Fryer “Poached” Eggs

Air Fryer “Poached” Eggs

Prep time: 2 minutes

Cook time: 5–7 minutes

Servings: 4 eggs

Ingredients & Equipment

  • 4 large eggs (cold or room temperature)

  • 8 tablespoons warm water (2 tablespoons per ramekin)

  • Non-stick cooking spray or olive oil

  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

  • 4 small oven-safe ramekins (approx. 3–4 oz capacity)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 180°C (360°F) for 3 minutes.

  2. Prep the Ramekins: Lightly grease the inside of each ramekin with cooking spray or a drop of olive oil. Pour 2 tablespoons of warm water into each ramekin.

  3. Add the Eggs: Crack one egg directly into the water in each ramekin. The water helps create steam and keeps the whites tender while preventing sticking.

  4. Air Fry: Carefully place the ramekins into the air fryer basket in a single layer.

    • Runny yolks / soft whites: 5–6 minutes

    • Medium / jammy yolks: 6–7 minutes

    • Firm yolks: 8 minutes

  5. Drain & Serve: Carefully remove the ramekins using heat-safe tongs or oven mitts. Use a slotted spoon or gently tip the ramekin to slide the egg out onto a plate or toast, allowing any excess water to drain off.

  6. Season: Finish with flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
