Clove Tea
Ingredients:
-
2 cups water
-
4–5 whole cloves, slightly crushed
-
1 small cinnamon stick (optional)
-
½ inch fresh ginger, sliced (optional)
-
1 tbsp raw honey or fresh lemon juice (to taste)
Instructions:
-
Boil Water: Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
-
Crush & Add Cloves: Gently crush the whole cloves using a mortar and pestle to release their aromatic oils. Add the crushed cloves (along with ginger or cinnamon, if using) to the boiling water.
-
Simmer: Lower the heat and let the tea simmer gently for 5–7 minutes until the liquid turns a warm golden-amber color and releases a rich aroma.
-
Steep & Strain: Remove the pan from heat, cover with a lid, and let it steep for 2 to 3 minutes. Strain the tea into a mug using a fine-mesh sieve.
-
Sweeten & Serve: Stir in raw honey and a splash of fresh lemon juice if desired. Enjoy while warm.
