Ingredients:
-
1 cup (200 ml) warm water
-
1 tbsp (10 g) active dry yeast
-
1 tbsp sugar (to activate yeast)
-
2.5 cups (approx. 300 g) all-purpose flour
-
1 tsp salt
-
1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter (plus extra for brush)
Instructions:
-
In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
-
Stir in the salt, oil, and flour until a dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth.
-
Cover and let rest in a warm place for 30–45 minutes until doubled in size.
-
Divide dough into equal balls and roll them out into small flat circles (about ½ inch thick).
-
Heat a dry non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place a flatbread in the pan and cook for 2–3 minutes until bubbles form and bottom is golden brown. Flip and cook another 2 minutes.
-
Brush with melted butter or olive oil right out of the pan and serve warm!
