Ingredients
- 4 large yellow onions
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- ½ cup cooked bacon, diced, divided
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Peel the onions and cut off the tops. Carefully scoop out the centers, leaving enough onion layers to create sturdy hollow bowls.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, half of the shredded cheddar, half of the cooked bacon, salt, and black pepper.
- Fill each hollowed onion generously with the beef mixture.
- Wrap each stuffed onion individually in aluminum foil and place them on a baking tray.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the onions are tender and the beef is fully cooked.
- Carefully unwrap the foil from the tops. Sprinkle with the remaining cheddar cheese and bacon.
- Broil for 3–5 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
