Cheesy Tomato Toast in the Air Fryer 🧀🍅

Cheesy Tomato Toast in the Air Fryer 🧀🍅

This is my “I don’t want to cook, but I still want something really good” recipe. It always works—crispy bread, gooey melted cheese, and juicy tomatoes in just a few minutes!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices thick bread (sourdough, country bread, or Texas toast)
  • 2 tsp softened butter or olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 small ripe tomato, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ÂĽ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (188°C) for 2–3 minutes.
  2. Spread butter or olive oil evenly over both slices of bread. If using fresh garlic, mix it into the butter first.
  3. Sprinkle a little mozzarella over the bread to create a base layer.
  4. Arrange the tomato slices evenly on top.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  6. Add the remaining mozzarella, then sprinkle Parmesan over the top.
  7. Place the toast in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  8. Air fry for 5–7 minutes, or until the bread is crisp and the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  9. Garnish with chopped basil, parsley, or a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired.
  10. Serve immediately while the cheese is hot and stretchy.

Tips

  • Use thick-cut bread so it stays crispy.
  • Pat tomato slices dry with a paper towel to prevent soggy toast.
  • Add cooked bacon, pepperoni, ham, or sautĂ©ed mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • A drizzle of balsamic glaze after cooking adds a delicious finishing touch.
