🥬 Crispy Cabbage Patties
Golden, crispy on the outside and tender inside, these cabbage patties are an easy and delicious way to turn simple ingredients into a satisfying snack or light meal.
🥣 Ingredients
- 4 cups finely shredded cabbage
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2–3 tbsp cooking oil, for frying
👩🍳 Instructions
- Shred the cabbage very finely and place it in a large bowl.
- Sprinkle with a small pinch of salt and gently massage the cabbage for 1–2 minutes to soften it.
- If the cabbage releases a lot of water, squeeze out the excess moisture with your hands or a clean kitchen towel.
- Add the eggs, flour, shredded cheese, green onions, parsley or cilantro, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix everything thoroughly until you have a thick mixture that holds together when pressed.
- Divide the mixture into portions and shape each one into a thick oval or round patty.
- Heat a thin layer of oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Carefully place the patties in the hot pan. Don’t overcrowd the skillet.
- Cook for about 3–4 minutes per side, gently flipping once the bottom is golden brown.
- Continue cooking until both sides are deep golden and crispy and the center is fully cooked.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
